Incorporating visual content into your marketing is one of the major trends of 2018 and with Getty’s recent release of their new image embed tool, small business owners have access to over 35 million photos for non-commercial use.
Getty Images has dropped its watermark for the bulk of professional photography collection and now allows any user to select and use any image using an embed code the service will provide. The embed code will include the image, a credit, and a link back to the licensing page.
How to Use Getty Image Embeds for Marketing
The embed tool will allow users to select pictures for free on Twitter, Tumblr, and non-commercial blogs and websites. The Getty’s definition of “non-commercial” is quite liberal and many small business owners can benefit from access to the Getty photographs. In a statement from the company:
“The key attribute in classifying use as commercial is whether the image is used to promote a business, goods or services, or to advertise something. If not, it is a non-commercial use. Likewise, corporate blogs would be treated as editorial/non-commercial unless the image is directly being used to sell or promote their products or services.”
How to Embed Getty Images
Find images by typing keywords through Getty’s search filters. Once you have found an image you’d like to embed, click on the image to preview it before inserting it into a webpage or a blog post.
Grabbing the embed code for images to place for your website, blog, or social media platforms is easy and free. Click on the image’s embed icon (</>) from the image detail page or search results page. Copy the image’s code and past the HTML code into the source code of the website or blog.
