Taxify Launched In Ibadan Alongside Owerri
The Ride-hailing app, Taxify has decided to expand their reach by launching in Ibadan alongside Owerri; which are now third and fourth cities they have launched. The modern transportation service started operating in Nigeria in 2016; and started with two cities- Lagos and Abuja.
As a way of launching, the company decided to offer a 20% discount on all rides for the month of October 2018 and passengers can also enjoy a free first ride with the promo codes HELLOIBADAN and HIOWERRI when they use the card payment option on their app.

Microsoft Stops Windows 10 Updates

Microsoft has decided to stop the latest version of Window 10 operating system; owing to the deletion of the files on the users’ computers.
Their support page said the updates has been paused due to some missing files which they are presently investigating on.
“We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating,” the company wrote.
The latest update called Version 1809 was launched to coincide with Microsoft’s updated surface devices.
However, Microsoft is said to have advised users who have downloaded the updates to avoid installing it on their Personal Computers; after which no response has been reported.

The training was on how businesses can promote themselves using various digital tools,focusing on website building , running business ads and leveraging on social media amongst others.

New Smartphone App Launched To Diagnose Parkinson’s disease

Two researchers whose names are Patrick Schwab and Walter Karlen, who both work in the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems in Switzerland; have proposed the use of a smartphone app to diagnose Parkinson’s diseases. The App is proposed to help detect the early signs of the diseases as well as its progression.
Parkonson’s disease is said to be the breakdown of the nervous system which in turn affects the person’s ability to control his or her movements; which over time affect the person’s ability to speak or walk. The disease has no cure currently but can be managed progressively and it affects over 6million person worldwide
The two researchers used the mobile app to collect demographic data including the four tests from the users which were walking, voice, tapping and memory.
The walking test include walk 20 steps forward and turn around
The voice test include say aaaaah for up to 10 seconds
The tapping test include put the phone on a flat surface and alternatively, tap two buttons on the screen for 20seconds.
.The memory test include to remember the pattern of flowers lighting up on the screen, and then touch the flowers in the same order.
